The conference proceedings
Papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings subject to author registration and payment. The conference proceedings have an ISSN and an ISBN.
How to prepare your short conference paper (i.e. extended abstract)
- Short papers (min. 4 pages / max. 5 pages including the figures and references) should be covered by one or more of the Conference Tracks.
- The short paper should be written in English and prepared using the WEFE2023 Short Paper Template.
- Figures and tables should be embedded and not supplied separately.
- All papers will undergo a peer-review process by track chairs and members of the Scientific Committee.
- The deadline for submission of the extended abstract is 31 January 2024.
Special issue on The Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus Approach to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals"
A Special issue of the Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration (indexed in Web of Science and Scopus) is offered as a follow-up to the conference. The content of the manuscripts submitted to the Special Issue should differ from the extended abstracts (we expect roughly 40% new content). The authors of all accepted abstracts are invited to submit their manuscripts to this special issue before 31 March 2024. Please check the journal guidelines for authors before submission.

Publication in peer-reviewed journals
The following Journals have shown an interest in publishing papers from our Conferences.
Conference participants have the option to submit their full papers for publication in one of our partner journals*. Each journal will conduct quality checks on the accepted papers and only papers that pass these checks will be published.
Article processing charges (APC) of the following open-access partner journals: Discover Food and Discover Environment, will be waived for selected high-quality papers (up to 10).
