You can reach Rabat by
- Direct flight to Rabat/Salé airport then take the bus or a taxi to Rabat city.
- Direct flight to Casablanca airport then take the train to Rabat city (about 2 hours).
To reach Rabat, the easiest way is to take a train shuttle from Casa Airport to Casa Voyageurs (~35 min), then the fast train Al Boraq from Casa Voyageurs to Rabat Agdal (~1h45). Transport between the two campuses
- Distance between Rabat and Kénitra is around 50 km. The travel by car takes around 50 minutes: Itinirary by car
- Taking the train from Rabat-Agdal to Kénitra takes 30 min, costs 2,55 euros and is very frequent, see example:here.
- Taking the train from Rabat-Ville to Kénitra takes 30 min, costs 2,55 euros and is very frequent, see example:here
- Prefer the Train Navette (TN) , which is both fast and highly reliable.
Venue and lodging preferences
- From Rabat-Salé airport to Rabat or Kénitra: take the train or the fast train.
- You can either stay in Rabat the 3 first day of the Rabat Venue then travels to Kénitra for the other 2 Kénitra venue days.
- You may prefer to stay in Kénitra or in Rabat the whole conference duration. The transport between the two campus is easy frequent and cheap.
Train in Morocco
- There are trains throughout most cities in Morocco, though their speed and comfort differs according to the line. Tickets (except shuttle) can be book on the ONCF website (French, English).
- The Al Boraq line is a fast train from Tanger to Casablanca, deserving Rabat and Kenitra. The stations are: Tanger, Kenitra, Rabat Agdal, Casa Voyageurs. Other stations in those cities are for slow trains.
Security in Rabat and Kénitra
Both cities are known to be secure. Rabat is a Unesco World Heritage city.
Note on the September earthquake
On September 8, 2023, a magnitude-7 eathquake hit Morroco 73 km south-east of Marrakech. The damages were important in the Atlas mountain region but the earthquake had no impact in Rabat and Kenitra, located more than 400 km north.
