Description
The W boson mass plays a crucial role as one of the most significant electroweak precision observables for scrutinizing the Standard Model and it is potential extensions. Recent measurements of the W boson mass at CDF indicate an extraordinary deviation of about 7σ from the SM predicted value, raising questions about the internal consistency of the model.
In this work, we investigate the impact of the updated value of m(W) on the electroweak fits in the (S,T) plane can be influenced by the two Higgs doublet models (2HDM), with a type 2 Yukawa coupling and top bottom quark (TB) alignment. In this scenario, within a coherent framework, we show that S and T parameters can be expressed as a function of the Higgs sectors parameters.
Investigating, the interplay between the two Higgs doublet models relate the updated m(W) value to the electroweak fits in the (S,T) plane, helps researchers to explore the consequences of additional Higgs bosons and extended Higgs sectors.
